I recently returned from taking volunteers to the Middle East to help Iraqi refugee families with individually given Front Range donations. Upcoming opportunities to donate or travel will help villages in: Ethiopia, Darfur, Kenya... Afghanistan, Jordan, Turkey... Myanmar, India, Indonesia...(we're in over 30 countries) I'm building a Front Range Network of donors and travelers. We've found that people really want to help the poorest of the world, they just want to be able to do it in focused ways... helping specific people in specific villages. Who We Are Global Hope Network is a non-profit humanitarian organization headquartered in Geneva Switzerland since 2001. Through our committed worldwide volunteers and staff, Global Hope Hope Network serves the "Hidden and the Hurting" in more than 30 countries... one village at a time... and we're rapidly growing. AFRICA Darfur, Sudan: Thousands flee their homes in one of the greatest humanitarian crises of today. GHNI is bringing hope to a remote area of Darfur through medical relief, sypplying water, and teaching health and hygiene. MIDDLE EAST Afghanistan: Hazara widows are empowered to sustain their families through learning micro-enterprise. Our "Widows Jam Project" enables them to earn a living wage, making jams sold around the area. ASIA Indonesia: Disease runs rampant, and children continually die from diarrhea and dehydration. Though many fear death, Global Hope Network is bringing life through clean water provision and community health training.
What We Do We often involve our volunteer network to help provide immediate relief for people in war zones or areas of natural disaster (we were one of the first on the ground in Myanmar after the recent cyclone). But we also involve volunteers in helping long-term development in the poorest villages of the world... in health, agriculture and micro-enterprise opportunities. This allows families and individuals to become strong and independent, moving them away from perennial poverty and despair.
